Robert Redhammer is President (Rector) of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava since February 2011. Previously he served as the Vice-Rector of the University responsible for university science and technology policy. Prior of that he was Vice- Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. He has consistently worked to improve entrepreneurial spirit of the University, relations with industry and commercial sector. He initiated several successful collaborations with foreign experts in the area of technology transfer, including projects with the University of Oxford.
In 2005 he established the first university technology business incubator in Slovakia with the start-up program InQb which has helped more than 40 start-ups in first seven years. In 2007 he has founded STU Scientific Ltd., the University fully owned company focused on technology transfer and research services. The company created and manages portfolio of 6 spin-out companies.
He is a member of the Science and Technology Board of the Slovak Government. Robert Redhammer is professor in Electronics. He is president of Slovak Vacuum Society and he was member of Executive Committee of the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technology and Applications.
